Lynn Redgrave Dead At 67

Lynn Redgrave, a British actress whose five-decade career spanned film, television and the stage, has died at the age of 67, The Associated Press reports.
Redgrave died on Sunday night (May 2) at her home in Manhattan, according to her publicist. While no specific cause of death was given, Redgrave was treated for breast cancer in 2003.
The actress made her breakthrough performance in 1966's "Georgy Girl" as the young, liberated London woman who gave the film its title. She received a Best Actress Oscar nomination for the role. More than 30 years later, Redgrave would again notch an Oscar nod, this time for a supporting turn in "Gods and Monsters."
Redgrave also staged one-woman plays about her father ("Shakespeare for My Father"), mother ("Rachel and Juliet") and grandmother ("Nightingale"). In January, Redgrave was inducted in the Theater Hall of Fame.
Redgrave's other film credits include "Shine," "Peter Pan" and a small role in "Kinsey." Her final acting credit came during the 2009 season premiere of "Ugly Betty" as an eccentric designer.
Born into a renowned English acting family, Lynn Redgrave performed with sister Vanessa Redgrave on numerous occasions, both on stage and in front of the camera, during such productions as "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" and "Three Sisters." Their brother, actor Corin Redgrave, died last month. Lynn Redgrave's nieces include Joely Richardson and Natasha Richardson, who died from a head injury sustained during a skiing trip in March 2009.
